Minna, Nigeria
St Stephens Anglican Church, is a semi-urban area neighborhood, located in Maikunkele, Niger State, Nigeria. Founded on the 26th day of December 1993, first as a mission station, but over the years, grown to become an archdeaconry. The ultimate vision is to get the church (the gospel of Christ) closer to the people in the neighborhood.
About 7 years ago, we embarked on an expansion project, to increase the sitting capacity of the auditorium and allow for much-needed space to accommodate more people in a single service, also to ensure that stewards/workers and other departments within the church have a decent workspace. As it stands now, the construction work has gone up to the roofing level (iron rafter laying near completion).
Until now, the project has been funded by members’ contributions, and this has put lots of financial pressure on the already financially frail members, thereby making some pull out of the church, hence disrupting the vision of the ministry. The current membership is somewhere above 200, the project has continued to take longer than envisioned and this is due to limitations in finance, considering that most members are either pensioners, students in tertiary institutions, or unemployed. The total budget for the completion of the entire project is estimated at around 23.3 million Naira ($53.708) with an exchange rate of 434 naira to $1.
We sincerely welcome you to help us in building a decent worship center unto God.
