Helping God’s people make disciples who multiply Two years ago, Byron and Pamela Sommardahl started a Bible study in their living room in Honduras. Eight people, plastic chairs, too much coffee. Some of those people went on to start their own group. In that group, people came to faith and were baptized, and that group is now continuing to study and deepen their faith together. A few months ago, that group started discipling another family down the road. Three generations. And the part that still catches us: Byron and Pamela don’t lead any of them. Hondurans do. That’s what CoMission has been praying toward for fifteen years, and this year it broke open. In May, the work reached two churches and about ten disciple makers. Today it’s around 75 churches and close to 100 Hondurans actively making disciples of their own.

What CoMission Does

CoMission helps God’s people make disciples who multiply. Spiritually open people are all around us, but most are never connected to a believer who is ready and equipped to walk them through Scripture. CoMission works on both sides of that gap: identifying spiritual seekers, equipping ordinary believers to become disciple makers, and connecting the two through tools, training, coaching, and technology-enabled systems. Honduras is where that model is proven right now, in rural communities where a church’s own members are being trained to open the Bible with their neighbors, rather than depending on an outsider to do it for them. It’s not the only place this can work. CoMission is built for anywhere a church is ready to try.

Why It Matters

The bottleneck was never spiritual openness. It’s trained disciple makers. Most churches have members who are faithful and present but were never shown how to open a Bible with someone who’s asking questions. CoMission exists to close that gap, one church and one believer at a time, so the multiplication doesn’t depend on any single person, family, or missionary.
