The R.E.F.U.G.E. Network™ is the flagship initiative of Farm-Raised Faith America™. We are a community-led initiative dedicated to creating a just and resilient local food and farming system. We serve as a systemic replacement for a fractured industrial food model, actively working to address the consolidation of the centralized beef supply by bridging the Heritage Farm-Fresh Food Gap for our most vulnerable neighbors.
The Mandate of Dignity: Honoring Our Neighbors
We believe that access to high-quality, farm-fresh protein is a fundamental right, not a luxury. Currently, Oklahoma faces a crisis of Nutritional Extraction: while we are a top agricultural producer, 1 in 4 of our students and 1 in 10 of our seniors struggle with chronic hunger. Our mission is a unique, public health approach to ending hunger. We prioritize Food Choice, Dignity, and Equity for our Veterans and Seniors—restoring their heritage and ensuring those who built our communities are the first to be nourished by the yield of our land.
The Solution: Connective Tissue & Local Resource Activation
We facilitate a vibrant local food system by serving as the connective tissue that activates local strategic partners and existing local resources. Unlike traditional models burdened by costly brick-and-mortar infrastructure, we utilize a proprietary Asset-Light Framework. This model enables us to rapidly expand and ensure that funding intended for a specific region stays in that region, securing the economic and nutritional sovereignty of every neighbor and producer in the local food economy.
The “Local Stays Local” Mandate
We operate under a definitive “Local Stays Local” Mandate, ensuring that 100% of production, processing, and distribution remains within the localized circular economy. This mandate prevents the extraction of resources by industrialized systems and ensures that the wealth of rural Oklahoma is reinvested directly back into its own communities.
The Activation: The DPU Value Stack
Our work is about social change from the ground up. We achieve our mission through modular Units of Activation undergirded by dignity for all. Every Decentralized Protein Unit (DPU) activation includes:
- THE SYSTEM: Biosecurity Firewall & Local Supply Chain: Activation of our asset-light logistical network. This decentralized structure acts as a biological firewall, eliminating the “super-spreader” risks associated with centralized industrial factory farms and ensuring a safe, sovereign local supply chain.
- THE HUMAN: Nourishment for 200+ Neighbors: The delivery of high-density heritage protein to 200+ local recipients. We prioritize the intergenerational needs of those overlooked by the modern economy: our Veterans, our Seniors, and our rural K-12 Students who are currently protein-starved.
- THE PRODUCER: Foundation for Local Ranchers & Legacies: Direct economic support for local Oklahoma ranchers, providing the financial stability required to bypass industrial consolidation. This keeps agricultural resources within the community to secure the family ranching legacy.
- THE FUTURE: National Heifer Retention Initiative: A 20% Monetary Investment specifically dedicated to heifer retention. Following the strategic guidance of experts like Dr. Derrell Peel, this capital allows ranchers to retain the “biological capital” necessary to rebuild the herd while the national herd is at its lowest level since 1951.
- THE INTEGRITY: Strategic Oversight & Administration: A lean 8% administrative allocation ensures professional execution. This includes the Candid Platinum-rated financial stewardship of the Christian Ministry Alliance and the regional operational oversight of the R.E.F.U.G.E. NETWORK™.
Official Recognition and Capacity
This model has garnered state-level recognition. As the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ODAFF) noted in their official support, utilizing locally raised protein to feed local communities serves to “improve the quality of life for citizens and lay the building blocks for strong economic development”.
Our National Coordination Center in Jet, OK, manages the Alpha Node, which is engineered to sustain the protein foundation for 5,000 Plus Neighbors monthly across the historic Route 81 Corridor (Chisholm Trail), from Texas to North Dakota.

- Seniors (Dignity, Heritage, and Choice): We believe that access to high-quality, heritage protein is a fundamental right. In Oklahoma, 1 in 10 seniors struggles with chronic hunger, often forced to rely on ultra-processed alternatives that alienate them from their agricultural roots. Our model is undergirded by dignity, restoring the Food Choice and agency of our elders to be nourished by the yield of the land they built and stewarded. By providing heritage beef at zero cost, we restore their connection to the culturally familiar foods they have trusted for generations. This serves as a vital intervention to preserve functional independence and prevent sarcopenia, ensuring our seniors are not forced to compromise their heritage for basic nutrition.
- K-12 Students (The School Protein Initiative): We address the crisis where 1 in 4 Oklahoma children face food insecurity. By supplying the highest-cost item—premium heritage protein—to rural school lunch programs at zero cost, we enable districts to reallocate their limited budgets toward other local farm products. This effectively doubles a school’s local purchasing power and guarantees the next generation has equitable access to premium nutrition.
