Free in Christ Ministries helps Christians with attraction to the same sex find wholeness through education, community, and resources. We also help pastoral teams and other Christian groups minister to same-sex-attracted people more compassionately and effectively. We serve from the Nashville metropolitan area of the USA and work primarily in that area, but we welcome inquiries from elsewhere in the USA as well as internationally.
Following Biblical teaching, we hold that sexual wholeness is either faithfulness in the marriage of one man to one woman, or chastity in singleness. This is God’s plan for sexuality, and all happiness and blessing in human relationships flows from it.
We provide:
- Confidential consultation with individuals and/or their family members regarding unwanted same-sex-attraction.
- Confidential customized education for pastors, congregations, and other groups who are interested in improving their ministry to same-sex-attracted individuals.
- Confidential short-term referrals within our network of pastoral, counseling, and clinical volunteers.
- Resources and tools for effective discipleship and community.
We are not a reorientation ministry. We do not seek to make “gay” people into “straight” people. Rather, we promote sexual wholeness through Biblical ethics like chastity and discipleship, helping same-sex-attracted Christians become so deeply rooted in Christ that He becomes the focus of their lives… because “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17).
Our founder Rick Edwards was active in the LGBTQ+ community for nearly 20 years before finding freedom in Christ. His message is ambitious but essential: “We want to bring Jesus Christ back into the cultural conversation on sexuality. We want to proclaim His message in a way that both comforts and galvanizes, that brings hope and renewal, that destroys false moralities and builds on the True Foundation.” Your partnership will help us produce educational materials, host speaking engagements and learning sessions, and minister to same-sex-attracted people who are hurting.
