Hope of Peace Christian School

When Pastor Justine Namatovu arrived in the village of Kindulwe to plant a church, she found a community in deep poverty, filled with children who had been orphaned or abandoned. As a former schoolteacher, Pastor Justine began to gather the children for simple lessons and worked at whatever manual labor jobs she could find to provide them with small, simple meals. The number of children kept growing, and eventually she found a brick building without plumbing, electricity, or glass windows where she could teach the children, who ranged in age from 2 to 13. She named it Hope of Peace Christian School and, even though they still meet in that same building, she now has over 55 students. Through the help of her contacts in the United States, Pastor Justine has been able to hire two struggling single mothers to be teacher’s aides; she has purchased each child two uniforms; she feeds all 55 children every day; she has taken 12 of the homeless children home to live with her; and she is able to provide the children with lessons, school supplies, and exam fees. Because of God’s powerful work through Pastor Justine and generous donors, Hope of Peace is completely transforming the lives of its students. Currently, however, donations only cover the absolute bare essentials. Each additional donation from generous donors like you will enable the Hope of Peace kids to have fuller bellies, expanded minds, and deeper faith.
