Georgia, United States
More than 63,000 refugees call the state of Georgia their home, and almost half of them are women (47%). In Dekalb County, about 1 in 5 residents are women living below the poverty line without a spouse or partner.
Uncommon Neighbor is a ministry that offers safe housing and personalized mentorship to refugee women in and around Atlanta, Georgia. Over the years, my professional experience plus my volunteer work and deep appreciation for different faiths came together while I was in seminary. And I realized my unique opportunity as a single woman to offer culturally appropriate and safe spaces for the women in my community.
Please join me in loving some of our most vulnerable neighbors.
Uncommon Neighbor serves refugee women, over 18 years old, with an income less than the living wage in DeKalb County, Georgia.
